Since the beginning of Placido Domingo‘s celebrated career—which now spans over five decades—the dramatic tenor has forged a strong relationship with the work of Italian composer Guiseppe Verdi. Following performances of numerous Verdi roles (including with the Royal Opera in London and the Metropolitan Opera in New York), Domingo reveals his versatility on this, his first-ever album of baritone arias. Taken from a list of Verdi’s best operas including Macbeth, Rigoletto, Un Ballo in Maschera and La Traviata, the album simultaneously offers an opportunity for Domingo to explore new characters and of his ability as a singer.
