Great Version of a Great Game

This electronic version of the table game is brilliantly done. My family played the table version constantly when we all lived near one another. Now that we're apart physically, we can still play Qwirkle! Actually, to tell the truth, we play more than before because with this iteration there is no set up or clean up, no need to clean off a table or other large surface area, and players don't even need to all be free at the same time!

So, why only four stars? My only problem with this great app is that the notifications system doesn't always work. For example, I do usually get an initial notification that it's my turn, but there's no number on the app itself indicating how many games I have turns in. This means that after I get the original notification and ignore it because I'm busy, there's no number reminder to let me see that it's my turn like so many other multiplayer apps do. This may seem like no big deal, but I play several asynchronous games with my friends and family in my scarce spare time, and without those numbers working correctly, I resort to loading the game to see if it's my turn or not.

Again, this is only a very small annoyance and should not prevent anyone from purchasing and enjoy this excellent adaptation of a fabulous family game.

Good, hopefully will get better

Happy someone made a Qwirkle game app. I enjoy playing it and recommend it to others, but it has some minor issues.
There needs to be a “next game” button to move to the next unplayed online game. When you’re playing a bunch of online games the list gets long and some of the games are hidden; you can scroll down but it’s not obvious enough that you can, so some people forget the games that are out of sight.
There should be a way to turn off the opening move suggestion feature. Once you know how to play that’s just annoying.
It has one little glitch: if I’m playing online games and then move to local games it won’t let me start a new game. The board goes blank, no pieces. I have to close the game and reopen to start a new local game.
And finally, notifications don’t work for it.

Great game!

My family plays this board game when we get together. Found this version of the game while quarantining during the pandemic. The family lives in different areas of the country and it's great to get together and play on line. We usually do FaceTime on one device and play on the other so it's like being together. Another group I play with we use the phone to talk while we're playing. It took some time to figure out how to get everyone on board but now it's easy. I'm just grateful I don't have to keep score!😆
I think I wrote this review a while ago and never sent it. Unfortunately Qwirkle has not been updated for a while and it’s not compatible with the updated iOS. Now you cannot invite friends to play to play on the updated iOS. It would be wonderful if you could fix it!!
